That’s why we’ve been moving toward recessed infrared ceiling heaters. They just make more sense. They hide away in the ceiling and actually handle the steam without breaking a sweat. How the heat actually works Here is the cool part. Most heaters try to warm up all the air in the room, which takes forever. These infrared units don’t bother with the air. They send heat in a straight line, right to you. It feels like stepping into a patch of sunlight on a cold day. Because the unit is tucked flush into the ceiling, you don’t have some clunky box hanging over your head, but you still get that immediate, targeted warmth the moment you step out of the shower. Built for the steam Bathrooms are brutal on electronics. Between the steam and the occasional splash, things tend to fry. To stop that, we use high IP ratings—which is basically a fancy way of saying we seal everything tight. We use silicone gaskets and tempered glass to make sure moisture never touches the electrical guts of the machine. Inside, there are quartz tubes filled with halogen gas. Why? You have to make sure there’s enough breathing room in the ceiling void. If it’s too cramped, the safety switch might trip and shut the heater off too early.
